Embrace the H-Factor

More Than Just a Family!

It’s the H-Factor - not simply because we Hubbards love our groceries, although we do. The H-Factor fits because the Hubbard family has an inexplicable ebullience – a razzle and dazzle and joie de vivre. The Hubbards take a big bite out of life and allow the juices to roll down our chins.

We are threads woven together creating a brilliant and beautiful tapestry. Our lineage speaks for itself.

So, the next time you do a thing and exhibit that certain, je ne sais quoi – just remember. It’s the H-Factor.

The Legacy Continues

Honoring Velma Hammond: Founder of the Hubbard Family Reunion Tradition

Velma Hammond, one of 16 children born to Henry and Madge (Bennett) Hubbard, laid the foundation for the cherished tradition of the Hubbard Family Reunion. Leaving her roots in North Carolina, Aunt Velma settled in Washington, DC, where she hosted the very first family reunion in her home in 1975. What began as a gathering in her warm and welcoming home has grown into a legacy that continues to unite our large and loving family.

Aunt Velma’s home was more than a place to visit—it was a sanctuary where everyone left with something, whether it was a meal, groceries, clothing, or a kind word. Her giving spirit touched the lives of her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and everyone who had the pleasure of knowing her. Though she and her generation have passed on, their love and dedication to family remain at the heart of our reunions.

Today, we honor Aunt Velma for her extraordinary contributions, her generosity, and her unwavering commitment to keeping our family connected. Her legacy lives on in every reunion, and we are forever grateful for the foundation she built to protect and celebrate our family’s rich heritage.

The Hubbard Legacy Award

The Hubbard Legacy Award honors a beloved family member who has passed but whose contributions have left an indelible mark on our communities, churches, and, most importantly, our family. This award is a tribute to those who have lived a life of service, embodying the values of faith, love, and generosity that the Hubbard family holds dear.

Through their dedication, wisdom, and selfless acts, they have strengthened our family bonds and made a lasting impact that continues to inspire future generations. The Hubbard Legacy Award is not only a remembrance of their remarkable life but also a celebration of the legacy they’ve left behind—a legacy that lives on in the hearts of those they touched.

We honor their memory, their contributions, and their unwavering commitment to family and community.
